List-Unsubscribe.net

Improve deliverability and reduce spam complaints by adding machine-readable unsubscribe instructions to your emails.

What are List-Unsubscribe headers?

List-Unsubscribe is an email header defined in RFC 2369 and extended by RFC 8058. It lets inbox providers (like Gmail and Outlook) show a native Unsubscribe action next to your email. Rather than relying on a link in the body, the header advertises one or more unsubscribe methods that clients can call automatically.

  • You can include a mailto: address (sends a blank unsubscribe email) and / or an HTTPS URL (calls your endpoint).
  • Adding List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click (RFC 8058) signals a safe, no-confirmation HTTP POST — many providers prefer this.
  • Major ISPs may require this for high-volume senders; it often helps deliverability and user trust.
